IEEE Conference on Standards for Communications & Networking
18-20 September 2017 – Helsinki, Finland

Panels

Panel 1:

Toward the Future of IoT with Drones.

This panel will discuss different topics relevant to the usage of drones in the area of IoT. This includes multi-drone systems
or networked drones for rescue robotics and how reliable communications would be a foundation for safe operation. The
panel will also discuss drones as flying wireless base stations – relevant challenges and opportunities.

Panel 2:

5G/NR Architecture – Is it revolutionary or evolutionary?

The topics that would be possibly covered includes recent disruptions and key breakthroughs related to 5G architecture, end-to-end system design, support for verticals, evolution from research to standards, and also giving a view from each panelist on whether they view the final system developed so far as evolutionary (wrt 4G) or revolutionary. The panel provides an opportunity for the attendees to debate the various revolutionary and evolutionary aspects related to 5G architecture and its future evolutions.
